Texas, eight miles from the capital city, Austin. His
father, R. C. Perry, joined the Texas Rangers when he
was sixteen years old. His mother was Sara Ann Kegan,
a daughter of James Kegan. who came with his family
with a colony from Missouri, in 1826, to colonize Washington
county, Texas.
